An ambitious vote in the European Parliament’s Environment Commission on deep-sea fishing regulations

The members of the biggest commission in the European Parliament, the Environment Commission, voted overwhelmingly (58 to 1) for a total reform of the regulations concerning “deep-sea fishing” and for the elimination of the most destructive fishing methods (bottom trawling and gillnets) at depths greater than 200 meters.
