“European fleets fishing in deep waters are among the largest in the world. It is the EU’s absolute duty to regulate these activities. The EU must essentially take back control of these destructive fishing methods that damage deep-sea ecosystems. If the EU does not act in this area, then we shall all be, especially the European Union, responsible for the destruction of marine biodiversity and fish stocks, which is why the EU is politically and morally responsible for what happens in the oceans.”
